If you are a highly-touted football recruit and the Alabama Crimson Tide come calling, you generally will listen. However, while Brevin White was honored to receive the offer, he decided to stick with his decision to remain committed to Princeton.
That’s right: a four-star quarterback recruit chose the Ivy League over a Power 5 offer from a perennial national championship contender.
White made his commitment last summer and despite the late offer from Alabama he told CBS Sports that he “had to stick with my heart.” White is currently the No. 13 ranked pro-style quarterback in the Class of 2018, according to 247 Sports.
“Alabama is a heck of a place and program with a great education and football team. However, Princeton is the best fit for me and who I am,” White said, via 247 Sports’ Greg Biggins.
White recently went on an official visit to Tuscaloosa and also held offer from programs like Tennessee, Washington, Washington State and Arizona State before staying firm on his decision to head to Princeton.
White plans to major in economics and eventually join the finance world after his football days are behind him.
