The Ultimate Fighting Championship invaded Austin, Texas on Sunday night for an action-packed UFC Fight Night 126 that was full of finishes from the opening bout.
To cap off the night, Derrick Lewis scored an impressive third-round knockout in the co-main event before Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone electrified the crowd at Frank Erwin Center with his first-round TKO over Yancy Medeiros to send everyone home on a high note.
Cerrone secured his finish with just two seconds remaining in the opening frame.
“I just bit down and said, ‘Ya know what? Let’s go,’” Cerrone said after the fight. “I didn’t know it was 10 seconds left, either – I was just going for the finish. That’s what Yancy and I go for.”
Lewis and main card participant Curtis Millender, who scored a beautiful knockout over Thiago Alves with a knee down the middle, secured Performance of the Night bonuses, while Brandon Davis and Steven Peterson picked up $50,000 each for Fight of the Night.
