Baker Mayfield has been making waves at the NFL Scouting Combine.
The Oklahoma signal-caller and Heisman Trophy winner has never been shy about his self-belief and now he is saying that he believes he could be the right guy to turn around the Cleveland Browns.
“First things first, they’d get a winner,” Mayfield said. “If there’s anyone who would turn that franchise around, it’d be me,” he said. “They’re close. They’re very close. They’ve got the right pieces. I think they just need that one guy at quarterback.”
Mayfield has drawn comparisons to former Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel, so maybe there could be some hesitation from the franchise to take him, but if they ultimately make Mayfield one of their top picks he could end up turning the franchise around like he claims he can do.
“I don’t think I’m cocky,” Mayfield added. “I’m just confident.”
The 2018 NFL Draft takes place April 26-28 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
