Eminem is once again using his platform to send a political message.
After using a freestyle to directly go after Donald Trump at the BET Awards last year and featuring multiple politically-fueled tracks on his latest album, Eminem has returned to the stage and this time he is taking aim at the NRA with a message about gun violence.
Eminem broke out a new freestyle verse at the iHeartRadio Music Awards where he introduced by Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting survivor Alex Moscou. Eminem then delivered his brief message about the NRA’s influence on the government before performing “Nowhere Fast (feat. Kehlani) for the crowd.
Video from Eminem’s iHeartRadio Music Awards performance can be seen below, along with lyrics from the new freestyle verse:
“Sometimes I don’t know what this world has come toIt’s blowing upThis whole country is going nutsAnd the NRAIs in our wayThey’re responsible for this whole productionThey hold the strings, they control the puppetAnd they threaten to take away donor bucksSo they know the government won’t do nothingAnd one’s budgingGun owners clutchingTheir loaded weaponsThey love their guns more than our children.”
