Josh Rosen is one of the top quarterbacks in the 2018 NFL Draft class, but he is also one of the most scrutinized. The former UCLA Bruins signal-caller has come under fire with people questioning his love of the game and others talking about a poor attitude. That has led to uncomfortable questions for Rosen, but in a recent interview with ESPN he gave a glimpse into his true personality and also relived a hilarious moment from his early years at UCLA.
Rosen was part of a viral moment when he began rising to fame leading the Bruins thanks to a video and photos of an inflatable hot tub in his dorm room surfacing.
If you don’t remember the dorm room hot tub, here’s the video:
What college kid wouldn’t want that addition in their dorm room?
Despite the humor in all of it, Rosen said that is one of the biggest mistakes or one of the “most jerkish” things he has done throughout his college career.
Here is what Rosen had to say:
Q: What’s the most jerkish thing you’ve done?
A: [Pauses] The social media post about Under Armour was pretty sh—y, and the hot tub.
Q: What was the mistake with the tub? Having an inflatable tub in your room, hosting a woman in the tub or allowing a photo to hit Instagram?
A: Hosting a woman in the tub. Again, it’s about tailoring the message — I don’t want to get political, but the thing I regret the most about the Trump thing is using the F-word. I’m a role model for kids. I regret the F-word.
Now the hot tub: I accidentally shipped it to my mom’s house. My mom thought it was hilarious and drove it up for me. I thought it was hilarious because she did. But I shouldn’t have had a woman in there. I enjoy making people laugh, but what I find funny and put online, others might misconstrue and find jerkish. I need to refine my message but not lose who I am.
Honestly, Rosen was just a kid having some fun.
We will have to see where Rosen ultimately lands later this month when the 2018 NFL Draft takes place from April 26-28.
