The “Dancing With The Stars: Athletes” cast was revealed on Friday morning, featuring a Notre Dame basketball player, plenty of Olympic athletes, a former MLB player, and an NBA legend. Athletes generally tend to do well on ABC’s dance competition so this could be one of the most competitive seasons yet.
Among the 2018 Winter Olympians who will be competing on the special season are figure skaters Adam Rippon and Mirai Nagasu, snowboarder Jamie Anderson, and luge medalist Chris Mazdzer.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will also be fun to watch, because who doesn’t want to see how awkward it will be for a 7-foot 70-year-old to hit the floor with a tiny dancer?
Notre Dame women’s basketball star Arike Ogunbowale, who nailed back-to-back buzzer beaters to lift the Fighting Irish to a national championship in the 2018 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament, will also be on the show, along with current NFL player Josh Norman.
“Dancing With The Stars: Athletes” is the 26th season of the long-running series and is set to premiere on April 30. The special edition of the competition will run for just four weeks.
