Combine is make or break for Demarcus Robinson?

Former Florida wide receiver Demarcus Robinson is one of the most interesting prospects in this year’s draft and if one were to ask draft guru Tony Pauline, who recently posted a piece on the Philadelphia Eagles’ official website, the interview process could be what decides Robinson’s fate.

Now, in terms of talent, Robinson has it all. The former four-star recruit from the Macon, Georgia area left Gainesville with 105 receptions for 1,353 yards and nine touchdowns, but also had trouble staying on the field. Robinson was suspended four times at Florida, three times for smoking marijuana and once for missing curfew. He has insisted that those days are behind him but given how a highly talented receiver in Josh Gordon has been unable to stay on the field due to marijuana use, scouts may shy away from drafting Robinson. Keep in mind that a scout last week referred to him as “Mr. Suspension,” so his name is bound to raise some red flags.

Which is why it is vitally important that Robinson ace his interviews and then some this week. He needs to go above and beyond to prove that his marijuana use was not just him making a mistake, but a mistake that he learned from. So long as he wins people over at that stage, he could still be drafted.

Otherwise, he may not even hear his name called in the spring.
