Each and every year, we see special moments during Spring Games across the country and this year the Oklahoma football program gave us one of the best feel-good moments of the spring.
During the Sooners’ Spring Game over the weekend, James Woods, a 15-year-old with a rare form of cancer, got to take the field and steal the show.
Woods, who is a patient at the OU Children’s Hospital, took a handoff from Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray before running 29 yards for a touchdown.

The Sooners are preparing for life without star quarterback Baker Mayfield, who is expected to be a top-five pick in the 2018 NFL Draft later this month. The first game of the post-Mayfield era will come on Sept. 1 against Lane Kiffin and his Florida Atlantic Owls.
