As the 2018 NFL Draft rumors continue to swirl, Cleveland Browns fans had a moment of excitement when it appeared that one NFL insider accidentally leaked the team’s plans for the No. 1 selection in this week’s draft. NFL insider Benjamin Allbright is the reporter who may have made the slip-up.
On Tuesday, Allbright took to Twitter to simply tweet “it’s Darnold,” which caused some confusion.
The pick was quickly deleted, but one quick Twitter user was able to capture a screen grab.

Allbright responded to the hysteria after deleting the tweet. He wrote, “Some of you saw me delete a tweet. If you caught that tweet, good for you. No further comment on it.”
How dare you, Benjamin!
If Darnold is, in fact, the pick, it falls in line with the buzz that has been swirling in recent weeks. It has been widely speculated that the Browns will be taking one of the top four signal-callers in this year’s class — Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield, and Josh Rosen — with Darnold and Allen viewed as the most likely candidates for the pick.
We will find out exactly which direction Browns GM John Dorsey ends up going when the 2018 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 26.
