The 2018 NFL Draft is just days away, but the Cleveland Browns have yet to tip their hand regarding who the team could potentially select with the No. 1 overall pick. All four of the top quarterbacks — Sam Darnold, Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield, and Josh Rosen — have been linked to the team, along with running back Saquon Barkley.
In recent days, there has been a belief that the Browns are narrowing down their choice to either Allen, who is believed to be the front-runner, or Darnold, but now things have gotten murky once again.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Mayfield is “definitely” in the mix for the top selection.
“Just to add a bit more murkiness to top of the draft: one NFL executive said this morning that Baker Mayfield is “definitely” in Cleveland’s conversation to become the No. 1 overall pick,” Schefter wrote on Twitter.

It would certainly be an intriguing choice and one that would shake up the first round right off the bat. A number of teams like the New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals, and Buffalo Bills are believed to have interest in the Heisman Trophy winner, but if Cleveland pulls the trigger with the top pick, everyone will be ripping up their mock drafts and going to Plan B.
We will get to see what the Browns’ plan is when the draft kicks off Thursday, April 26 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
