On Monday night, five-star college basketball recruit Romeo Langford made his long-awaited decision on where he will begin his collegiate career. Langford had been deciding between the Indiana Hoosiers, Vanderbilt Commodores, and Kansas Jayhawks. Ultimately, when the decision was made, Langford picked the Hoosiers. Considering Langford was a standout at New Albany High School in Indiana, his decision to stay home was not surprising.
A few people, however, were upset with the 18-year-old’s decision.
One person who wasn’t happy was controversial sports commentator Skip Bayless.
“Hey, Romeo Langford: I respect & understand your decision to stay in state and play for Indiana,” Bayless wrote on Twitter. “But you should’ve signed with the best school in the country, Vanderbilt, and joined a recruiting class that could’ve contended for a national championship.”
This is why Bayless is the king of hot takes.
And for anyone else out there, be sure to refrain from telling a teenager where he should attend college.
As for the claim that Vanderbilt could contend for a national championship, they are a team that went 12-20 last season and their recruiting class features two top 15 recruits. While that is some promising talent, Bayless should pump the brakes when it comes to any national title talk.
