Kayvon Thibodeaux, the nation’s No. 1 recruit, made a surprising stop on the recruiting trail. The Oaks Christian standout, who has offers from every top program in the nation, made a trip to Tallahassee over the weekend. But while the weakside defensive end prospect has an offer from the Florida State, it was not the Seminoles who Thibodeaux made waves with.
The team that got a visit from the stud prospect? Florida A&M.
Thibodeaux, who was in town for a Florida State recruiting event, decided to make the trip a few miles to stop by the FAMU campus and he was happy to share photos on social media.
I had an unbelievable time at #FAMU , special thanks to the Admins, SBI, student-body, & Football staff and especially @HCWillieSimmons for inviting me down. šš½ #MoreThanAnAthlete #HBCU pic.twitter.com/10yq3Gf7tt

The main reason Thibodeaux visited Florida A&M was likely to experience the atmosphere of an HBCU. And it clearly made a positive impression.
Every student athlete needs to visit a HBCU. š¤£š¤£š¤£šÆšÆššš#FAMU

Will Thibodeaux ultimately end up playing for the Rattlers? Highly unlikely. However, it’s a good look for FAMU that they were able to get the top prospect in the country in their facility and in their uniform for a photo op.
According to the 247 Sports Crystal Ball prediction, Thibodeaux is currently favored to stay close to home with the USC Trojans having a 50 percent chance to land the prospect. Alabama sits in second at 19 percent and Florida State in third with 12.
