College Sports News
The Maryland football program is just three weeks from its season-opener against the Texas Longhorns at FedExField, but questions are surrounding the Terrapins and head coach DJ Durkin. On Saturday, Aug. 11, the Terrapins placed Durkin on paid administrative leave as the university investigates the death of offensive lineman Jordan McNair and as reports of a “toxic culture” surround the program.
The Ole Miss Rebels will have a new mascot starting in 2018. On Saturday, Aug. 11, the Rebels officially unveiled their new mascot, Tony the Landshark, after new Landshark mascot comes after the university decided to retire Rebel the Bear. Rebel the Bear had been the mascot since 2010. The previous mascot was Colonel Reb, who was retired in 2003.

It is hard to believe it’s been five years since the death of actor Paul Walker. On Saturday, Aug. 11, a documentary chronicling his life, titled I Am Paul Walker, premiered on the Paramount Network. The documentary was directed by Adrian Buitenhuis, who also directed I Am Heath Ledger.
