During the 2017-18 NBA season, LeBron James surpassed the 30,000-point mark. Since that time, he has left the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time and joined the Los Angeles Lakers. Oh, and he received a $100,000 pair of sneakers.
On Tuesday, Aug. 28, “The Shoe Surgeon” Dominic Chambrone took to Instagram to show off an incredible collaboration with Nike, creating custom diamond and gold LeBron 15s to celebrate the 30,000-point milestone.
“Thank you @Nike for collaborating with me on the most challenging yet rewarding shoe I’ve created to date, in celebration of @kingjames 30k point milestone,” wrote Chambrone on Instagram.
The sneakers are “handcrafted out of genuine crocodile skin, finished in 24 karat gold and elevated with authentic, solid-gold details – Riri zippers with custom zipper pulls, heel clips, lace loops and diamond-adorned shoelace aglets.”
Chambrone explained further in another Instagram post that shoed some of the detail in the shoe.
If you aren’t sick of looking at the ridiculous sneakers yet, there’s another video that shows off the making of the sneaker which includes more than 238 diamonds.
“The Shoe Surgeon teamed up with Nike to commemorate LeBron’s historic 30,000 point milestone. Crafted using 24 karat gold crocodile, solid gold details, and over 238 diamonds, this sneaker is truly fit for the king,” the YouTube description reads.
