The Miami Hurricanes and LSU Tigers are set to kickoff their 2018 campaigns on Sunday, Sept. 2 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Ahead of their top 25 clash, tensions are running high between the two teams as evidenced by a pregame scuffle as the two teams met on the field.
There weren’t many details about what led to the scuffle between the No. 9 Hurricanes and No. 25 Tigers, but LSU quarterback Joe Burrow was in the middle of things jawing at Hurricanes players.
Plenty of media members who were in attendance in Arlington captured video and photos of the near melee.

Also in the middle of the scuffle was Miami defensive tackle Gerald Willis, who is a New Orleans native.
Looks like NOLA native and Miami DT Gerald Willis was in the middle of the scuffle that broke out pregame. Great shot by @MichaelDeMocker here. pic.twitter.com/XIohQAm98I

Even some members of the staffs were getting involved, with former LSU star and current player of development Kevin Faulk getting in the face of Miami director of player development on defense Joel Rodriguez.

We shouldn’t be surprised that LSU and Miami let their tempers flare. After all, the last time the two teams met was at the 2005 Peach Bowl when the Tigers earned a 40-3 win. After the game, the two teams were involved in a post-game brawl. This time, they decided not to wait until kickoff or the final whistle to get their hands on each other.
The game is currently airing on ABC.
