LOOK: Texas Tech Football Revives Iconic 1970s Uniform For TCU Game

The Texas Tech football team will be rocking some sharp throwback uniforms for this week’s in-state clash with the TCU Horned Frogs at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. The Red Raiders will be wearing an all-white look that pays homage to the Texas Tech teams from the 1970’s.
Under Armour provided a closer look at the new look.
“The Double T is the most iconic design feature of the Texas Tech football uniform, and was an obvious choice for us to focus on when creating this throwback uniform,” Nick Billiris, Senior Design Director of Team Sports at Under Armour, said in a statement.
“Texas Tech will be playing in-state rival TCU in these uniforms, so revisiting this era – when both teams were part of the now-dissolved Southwest Conference made up of mostly Texas-based schools – made perfect sense.”
Kickoff between Texas Tech and the Horned Frogs at Amon G. Carter Stadium is set for Thursday, Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
