When the Baylor football team takes the field on Saturday, November 17 for its game against the TCU Horned Frogs at McLane Stadium, they will be doing so with a uniform that has excited fans across the country. On Saturday, Baylor will be reintroducing its “Sailor Bear” logo that fans have been clamoring for.
Fans were hoping that Baylor would break out the alternate look for homecoming against Iowa State, but now it shows that their patience has been rewarded.
The “Sailor Bear” helmet will be paired with the team’s blackout jerseys and gold pants for Week 12.
Here is a hype video released by Baylor to show off their upcoming look.
The popular Sailor Bear was introduced in the 1950s which was created by former Disney employee Arthur Evans. The logo, while seldom used outside of the regional scene, was used until the “Growling Bear” — which is a realistic head of a grizzly bear — was introduced.
Now, for the first time in the modern era, “Sailor Bear” is back.
Kickoff between TCU and Baylor is set for 12:00 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1.
