Shelby Miller is the girlfriend of Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young. Young and Miller at the University of Oklahoma, where Trae was an All-American basketball player and Miller was a cheerleader for the Sooner.
Young, born September 19, 1998, was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2018 NBA Draft with the fifth pick overall pick. However, during the draft, he was later traded to the Atlanta Hawks for the draft rights to Slovenian star Luka Dončić. Given the talent of the two players and the draft day trade that swapped the two, Young and Dončić are likely to be linked for the entirety of their careers.
Young stormed into his rookie season, averaging about 16 points per game to go along with 7.5 assists and 3 rebounds per game. Due to his height, the position he plays, and his shooting range, Young has been on the receiving end of some early comparisons to two-time league MVP Steph Curry.
As for Miller, she clearly met Young at the University of Oklahoma while she was a cheerleader for the Sooners. However, despite his newfound fame and money that comes with being a top 5 NBA draft pick, Young has stuck with Miller as they two constantly post pictures together.
Miller’s last year cheering at the University of Oklahoma was in 2017-18, as she left the university the same year as her boyfriend.
