Déjà vu. For the fourth consecutive year, the Alabama Crimson Tide and Clemson Tigers will be meeting in the College Football Playoff. For the third time in those four meetings, the two teams will be battling it out for the national championship.
On Saturday, December 29, the No. 2 Tigers were able to punch their ticket to the title game by steamrolling the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.
A few hours later, Nick Saban’s squad took the Oklahoma Sooners to the woodshed in the Capital One Orange Bowl to secure the rematch.
And while we have to wait just over one week until the two teams square off once again, the oddsmakers in Las Vegas wasted no time setting their early betting lines for the national championship game. In fact, it was only halftime of the Alabama – Oklahoma game when the initial odds came out.
So, who is favored to bring home the national title?
According to the SuperBook Westgate Las Vegas, the Crimson Tide are expected to roll to a second consecutive national championship as nearly one touchdown favorites. The line is set at Alabama -6.5.
For those who like to try their luck on the over/under, that is currently set at 57.5.

Of course, with seven days until the national championship game, the odds will fluctuate and we will have to see where they stand when the two teams take the field for opening kickoff.
The bowl season will conclude on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, when the national championship takes place. The College Football Playoff National Championship Presented by AT&T takes place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
