In the 2018 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals traded up in the first round for quarterback Josh Rosen. He played fairly well in his rookie season even though he played behind one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL. However, his future with the team could be in question.
Arizona released a new hype video and did not feature the young quarterback.
The Cardinals have the first pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and are rumored to take Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray. New head coach Kliff Kingsbury was hired in the offseason and might want to bring in his own quarterback. Rosen was drafted by the previous coaching staff and his skill set might not be beneficial for Kingsbury’s system.

The UCLA quarterback will most likely not be in Arizona next season but the exact location is still a mystery. The Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Redskins, New York Giants, and New England Patriots have all expressed interest in the 2018 first round pick. The Cardinals want a first round pick for Rosen but none of those teams are expected to part with those picks.
The Redskins and Giants both have top 20 picks in the 2019 draft, while the Chargers and Patriots are picking at the end of the first. One team has offered a second round pick for Rosen but the Cardinals declined the offer. They moved up five spots in last year’s draft for him and want to get compensated in this year’s draft.
Rosen only threw 11 touchdowns in his rookie year but he played behind a banged up offensive line. Many scouts believed that Rosen had the best touch of all the quarterbacks in the 2018 class so the talent is there. The second-year quarterback could use a change of scenery to realize his full potential in the NFL.
The team’s hype video did not feature many players as it highlighted Larry Fitzgerald and David Johnson. Rosen’s exclusion from the video could be a sign that the Cardinals will trade him before the start of the 2019 NFL Draft.
