NBA Draft 2019: Full List of NBA Early Entrants

The deadline to enter the 2019 NBA Draft has expired. One-hundred and sixty-four players have made themselves eligible for the upcoming NBA Draft and have until May 29 to withdraw their names. The group consists of both college and international players that are under the age of 22.
Jalen Lecque is the most interesting name in the early entrant group as he is currently still in high school. The Brewster Academy player is in his post-grad year at the school which qualifies him for the NBA Draft. If he gets drafted, it will be the third straight year that a player has gone straight from high school to the NBA.
Portland’s Anfernee Simmons and Detriot’s Thon Maker used the same loophole that Lecque used to get drafted into the NBA. The NC State commit will have to prove that he is ready for the NBA over the next month. Lecque would be able to go NC State if he withdraws from the NBA Draft.
Darius Bazley is the player with the most to prove in the pre-draft process after taking a year away from basketball. The 2018 McDonald’s All-American was headed to Syracuse when he decided to go to the G-League instead. Bazley never played a game in the G-League as he decided to concentrate on preparing himself for the 2019 NBA Draft.
Mitchell Robinson did the same thing last year and was one of the top shot-blockers in the NBA. Bazley does not possess Robinson’s length or shot-blocking ability but he is a gifted scorer with a 6-foot-9 frame. He may not go in the first round but Bazley will get drafted into the NBA.
The list of early entrants into the draft will dwindle as players are able to stay in the draft until May 29. Some players will wisely withdraw their names, while others will go undrafted. The NBA Draft Combine starts on May 15 and is the true indicator of which early entrants will return to school.
