'Last Chance U' Star Ronald Ollie Lands With NFL Team

Ronald Ollie, one of the most endearing stars on Netflix hit series “Last Chance U,” has found his way into the NFL. The former East Mississippi Community College and Nicholls State star went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft, but signed a free agent deal.
Ollie took to social media to announce the big news.
“From Shubuta To Oakland!! Proud To Be A Raider,” he wrote on Twitter.

It was initially reported that Ollie was set to join the Baltimore Ravens. However, due to last minute circumstances, he made the trip to the West Coast. His signing comes after generating buzz during his Pro Day at Nicholls State. His numbers jumped out, per Jordan Schultz of ESPN:

DT Ronald Ollie is signing with the #Ravens, per source. Ollie was a Last Chance U star before starring at FCS Nicholls State. Impressive Pro day numbers as well: 4.87 40, 35-inch vertical, 114-inch broad. Baltimore believes it has a player in the 6-2, 292 pound UDFA. @netflix

Last season, Ollie picked up 33 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and five sacks while earning Southland Conference honorable mention honors.
Ollie becomes the second member of “Last Chance U” to land with an NFL team. During last month’s NFL Draft, Texas Tech linebacker Dakota Allen, who was initially dismissed from the program following an arrest for burglary, was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the seventh round.
