The Michigan basketball program hired former Fab Five star Juwan Howard to replace John Beilein as head coach. Following the official announcement of the hire, Beilein shared his thoughts and let it be known that he was a fan of the way the Wolverines are heading.
According to Beilein, the Howard hire is a “great fit.”
“W Manuel had great options in front of him! The selection of Juwan was a fabulous one. He loves UM, knows hoops & has a thirst to coach. He is a great fit to lead UM into the next decade of @umichbball. I will be rooting for Juwan & team every game,” Beilein wrote in a post on social media.

Prior to his hiring, Howard had received some high profile endorsements from the NBA. He had also been serving as an assistant coach for the Miami Heat.
“Man WHAT!!!!?? Absolutely the right choice and i hope it becomes a done deal ASAP!! One of my favorite people I’ve ever met at the age of 16 and been around since then,” LeBron wrote on Twitter.
Former Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade added, “Talk to me nice. Say it is so!!!? My guy deserves this opportunity. This will only be right.”
Now, we will have to see if the hiring lives up to the hype.
