The MLB postseason has been one to remember, games are competitive, highlights are being made, and players are showing off their skill-set. The saying “Legends are made in October” is true, so many iconic moments have happened in the playoffs. This year’s playoffs are not shying away from giving us some Kodiak moments. We have seen some great performances from individually and great performances from the teams overall. This is only the first round of the playoffs, and we are getting some crazy highlights. 5. Strasburg Sits Down 10
The Washington Nationals and the Los Angles Dodgers are having a good back forth series. The Nationals have good two aces in Stephen Strasburg and Max Scherzer. Stephen Strasburg. In-game 2 of the NLDS, Strasburg was striking out batters left and right. In six innings, Strasburg gave up one run, three hits, and struck out 10 batters. The Nationals ended up winning 4-2 to tie up the series.
4. Rays Show Off Defense
The Tampa Rays and Houston Astros are playing a competitive series. Everyone thought the Astros were going to win easily against the Rays, but they are giving them a run for their money. In-game 4 of the ALDS between them, the Rays made a highlight play to save their leader. Yordan Alvarez was up to bat with Altuve on first, and Alvarez hit a driven ball to deep center that hit off the wall Kevin Kiermaier threw to the cut off man and made the well-timed play at home before Aluteve can score.
3. Yadi Clutches Up
Yadier Molina is no stranger to October baseball, so it is only right that he is on this list. Atlanta Braves and St.Louis Cardinals are going back and forth in their series. In-game 4 of the NLDS bottom of the eighth Molina is at-bat and hits the ball to right to bring the tying run home from second base. The Cardinals would eventually win that game 5-4 and tie the series up 2-2. After Molina hit a sacrifice fly in extra innings.
2. Sir Didi Gives Fans A Gift
The New York Yankees swept the Minnesota Twins and will be facing the winner of the Rays-Astros series. The Yankees have put on an offensive show against the Twins. In-game 2 of the ALDS bases loaded, and Didi Gregorius was at-bat facing Randy Dobnak and got a high fastball, and Gregorius crushed one to right to clear the bases for a grand slam. The Yankees would eventually win that game 8-2 and also win the series.
1. Cole Strikes Out 15
Gerrit Cole has been making his case for the Cy Young Award, and his performance has translated over to the postseason. The Astros have proved they have dominant pitching. Justin Verlander put on a show in game one. Gerrit Cole was the starting pitcher in game two and put on an absolute pitching exhibition. Cole pitched 7 scoreless innings and struck out 15 batters. The Astros would win that game 3-1 and take 2-0 lead in the series.
