The 2019/20 NFL season is actually the 100th time that the National Football League has taken place. Now it is around the halfway point of the campaign, it is worth taking stock of how teams in the NFL are shaping up. While you could look at online sources including Indiana sports betting sites to help, you may also like to get a quick roundup of which teams have really shone so far.
The below shows the NFL side’s that have blazed a hot trail through the opening weeks of the season and look set to make a dash for the play-off’s and maybe even to the Superbowl.

New England Patriots

One team that has really stood out about all others so far has been the Patriots. Many people expected this after last season’s triumph, but few could have predicted they would be so dominant. They currently have an impressive 8-1 record to date and sit proudly atop AFC East. Indeed, it was only a defeat to the Baltimore Ravens which stopped them having all wins to their name. Of course, star QB Tom Brady is the driving force behind this side and he has been in sparkling form generally so far in 2019/20. But it really is the whole unit which makes them so hard to play against and free scoring. Players like Julian Edelsman and Sony Michel all continue to do their bit as the Patriots strive for another Superbowl success.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens are the only team that have not only put up some serious opposition when playing the Patriots this season but have also beaten them! This continues their stunning form in an NFL campaign which has seen them really stand out. They now have a 7-2 record that leaves them sitting pretty on top of AFC North. Highlights of their season so far were the 37-20 victory over New England and an impressive 59-10 destruction of the Dolphins in the first game. Star player has to be QB Lamar Jackson who has been on fire to date. He has also been helped by clever tactics and coaching that has surrounded him with more experienced players to allow his talents to flourish.

San Francisco 49ers

Another team that has stood out in a positive way in 2019/20 is the 49ers. They boast an 8-1 record and lead the way in NFC West to date. To be fair though, the Seattle Seahawks also deserve a mention with their 8-2 record in that division. The 49ers have really been on fire though as the 41-17 defeat of the Bengals and the 31-3 victory over the Browns showed. This has led many fans of the team to start believing a Superbowl run is on the cards this year. Although there are some great players who are making this happen on the field, like Tevin Coleman, many point to the genius of coach Kyle Shanahan as the major reason it is all going so well. With Nick Bosa also bossing it in defense for this team, they look to have attacking power and defensive toughness to burn.

Green Bay Packers

AFC North is usually an interesting division and this year is no different thanks to the outstanding form of the Green Bay Packers. Their record is currently 8-2 and they look poised to stay at the top of this division as the games roll by. A 42-24 victory against the Raiders perhaps was their top result so far and showed what they are all about. Aaron Rodgers has been the surprise package that has helped give the Packers their awesome start. In the Raiders game for example, he threw five touchdown passes and 429 yards in total! The defensive side of the Packers’ game has also been strong so far with Jaire Alexander the pick of the bunch. If coach Matt LeFleur can keep up their momentum, then anything is possible.

Standing out – for the right reasons

The above teams are the ones who have stood out in the NFL so far for all the right reasons. Whether it is star players or stellar coaching, they have managed to impress each time they play. Of course, there are other teams that have stood out for the wrong reasons such as the Cincinnati Bengals and the Miami Dolphins! Whatever happens next, the remainder of this NFL season is sure to be a real thriller and one that we will all remember for a long time.
