Kentucky DE Jason Hatcher arrested for drug trafficking

Kentucky defensive end Jason Hatcher has been arrested early this morning on drug charges. Originally a speeding stop, Hatcher was eventually charged with trafficking marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence, according to the Franklin County Regional Jail, who also posted Hatcher’s mug shot.

A former four-star recruit from Louisville, Hatcher appeared in seven games in 2015 and had 39 tackles and two sacks. Kentucky has not yet released a statement on his arrest, but it’s not looking good for him under any circumstances.

Drug charges of this magnitude are no joke and Hatcher is probably staring a dismissal from the program square in the face. No matter how you look at it, barring an absolute miracle and the charges being dropped for whatever reason, his football career in Lexington is likely over.
