Florida State was already making some upgrades to Doak Campbell Stadium this offseason, with renovations to the south end zone’s Champions Club having been underway for months now, but there’s apparently an even grander upgrade coming.
According to a tweet from Warchant, Florida State’s website in the Rivals network, Doak Campbell Stadium will also be receiving a new video board that will be twice as tall as the old one.
Senior Ass. AD Karl Hicks tells FSU Trustees plan is to have new video board in Doak north end zone this year. 2X taller than old board.

Long story short, upgrading the video board is a fine idea. College stadiums today all seem to be adding new video boards, namely Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium last season, and Florida State appears to be next.
But the question presents itself: does FSU really need a new video board? The current one is only eight years old, so it is arguably a bit soon to upgrade it again.
But Florida State’s reasons are its own and if Auburn’s board is any indication, FSU’s could wind up being just as epic, if not moreso.
