The Ohio State Buckeyes today broke the spring game attendance record as over 100,000 rabid fans packed Ohio Stadium to the gills, according to a report from Doug Lesmerises of Cleveland.com. Lesmerises also tweeted out the official capacity.

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer thus achieved his goal of drawing over 100,000 fans, breaking the Buckeyes’ own record of 99,391 last season. This year’s spring game was much different than 2015’s, as so many new faces were present due to a number of players from last year opting to declare for the NFL Draft.
In terms of how the Buckeyes achieved such attendance for a stadium that seats 104,000, pregame ticket sales were capped at 92,500 and the rest was either reserved for Ohio State students and children under age 6, both of whom were able to get in for free.
Given the attendance numbers, perhaps fans should look forward to Ohio State contending for a national championship once again in 2016!
