The NBA Draft Lottery takes place later on tonight and the Minnesota Timberwolves have a slight chance to win the top spot in the draft for a second year in a year. Last year’s first overall pick and Rookie of the Year Karl-Anthony Towns will be in attendance, but he will bring the spirit of former coach Flip Saunders with him.
Towns took to Twitter and posted a picture of Saunders’s wedding ring, which he will wear on a necklace in hopes that it brings the Timberwolves good luck at the lottery. Saunders, as many know, passed away in October after a battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
It will be an honor to wear one of Coach Saunders' wedding rings tonight at the lottery. Thank you, Ryan & Debbie. pic.twitter.com/RrwD441JDV

The Timberwolves will need all the luck they can get if they want to win the top spot in the draft again. They have the fifth-best odds to land the top spot and possibly take a player like Brandon Ingram or Ben Simmons.
Flip Saunders spent 17 seasons as a coach in the NBA, 11 of which were with the Timberwolves. He led the team to eight straight playoff appearances from 1997-2004.
Towns and the rest of the Timberwolves nation hope that Saunders can bring the team one last bit of luck to add to their already impressive roster of young and talented players.
