When it rains, it pours. Just weeks after the sexual assault scandal at Baylor University came to light, another former student has come forward to share details of a domestic violence situation which she says ex-head coach Art Briles and the team’s coaching staff was aware of.
Joe Schad released a lengthy status on social media detailing a situation involving a former Baylor student named Dolores Lozano.
Lozano says that she was assaulted by Devin Chafin, who was dismissed from the program recently, and that Briles and assistant Jeff Lebby were aware of the details. Lozano even says her and Lebby exchanged text messages about the situation before eventually going to the Waco Police.
Baylor never opened a formal investigation and Chafin was able to continue playing.
Schad shared images of Lozano’s injuries.

Lebby, who could and should lose his job if the report proves to be true, would not respond to a request for comment.
Jeff Lebby, currently the Baylor passing game/RBs coach, did not have immediate comment about Lozano’s claims

As the months go on, the situation at Baylor is looking more and more grim.
It’s tough to imagine the NCAA doing anything other than coming down with a hefty punishment after investigating the complete lack of institutional control at the university.
