Last year, a handful of states, including New York, declared daily fantasy sports were illegal due to their gambling nature. However, The Empire State has had a change of heart and has once again declared daily fantasy sports legal.
On Friday, the New York legislature passed a bill that would make sites like FanDuel and DraftKings once again accessible to the public.
Governor Andrew Cuomo simply needs to sign the bill into law.
Currently, a representative from Cuomo’s office says the bill is “under review.”
Hopefully for those in New York, the legislation will become law in time for the 2016-17 NFL regular season.
