The Clemson Tigers went 14-1 and just barely missed winning the national championship during the 2015 season, so they justifiably have reason to be excited going into the 2016 season.
The fans seem pretty excited for what the team should be able to do this year as well.
Following the team’s loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide in January, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney made a promise in a post-game press conference that his team would be back on the big stage sooner rather than later.
Fans seem to be holding him to that and one put together a video package of highlights from the team’s historic 2015 season and the 1981 season, the last time the team won the national championship.
The Tigers return Heisman Trophy candidate quarterback Deshaun Watson, running back Wayne Gallman and talented wide receiver Mike Williams on the offense, while Brent Venables should have the defense reloaded and ready for success this year.
I think it is safe to say Clemson should be able to contend for a spot in the College Football Playoff once again. The Tigers open the 2016 season on Sept. 3 when they travel to play the Auburn Tigers.
