Saturday night, a group of college football kickers were involved in a car accident and it was reported on Sunday that Nebraska punter Sam Foltz and Michigan State punter Mike Sadler were both killed.
It is also being reported that LSU kicker Colby Delahoussaye was injured in the crash.
The three players were returning from a camp in Wisconsin over and were involved in the accident Saturday night. It was reported by The Advocate’s Ross Dellenger that Delahoussaye was hospitalized in Wisconsin and was being treated for undisclosed injuries.
He has since been released after receiving stitches and having burns on his legs treated.
Colby Delahoussaye was a big piece of the Tigers’ special teams in 2013 and 2014 and was looking to reclaim the starting position after 2015 starter Trent Domingue left for Texas after a scholarship issue. He didn’t attempt a field goal last year, but he is 24 or 29 on his career and holds the school record for most field goals made to open a career with nine straight.
The Tigers now may have to look to Connor Culp, a three-star 2016 kicker from Arizona that signed with LSU in February.
