Florida State women’s soccer team tops preseason poll

On Tuesday, the 2016 NSCAA preseason poll was released and the Florida State Seminoles women’s soccer team was tabbed as the favorites going into the upcoming season which begins in just over two weeks.

Florida State, which has reached the NCAA Tournament College Cup for five consecutive years, was eliminated in the College Cup a season ago to end a quest for a second straight national championship.

Under Mark Krikorian, the winningest coach in school history (211–45–22), the Seminoles start the 2016 campaign on the road at Texas A&M on Aug. 19.

Following Florida State in the NSCAA preseason poll was last year’s national champions, the Penn State Nittany Lions. The Duke Blue Devils are ranked No. 3. Rounding out the top five is Virginia and Stanford.
