The LSU Tigers already have one of the best recruiting classes for the 2017 football season and it looks like it has just gotten even stronger. That came in the form of five-star ATH JaCoby Stevens, who committed to the Tigers on Monday.
247Sports’ Sonny Shipp reported that the five-star Stevens, who could play either safety or wide receiver at the next level, announced his commitment to LSU over SEC schools Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee as well as Clemson and Florida State. It is a huge steal for the Tigers, who already have four-star safety Grant Delpit on the board.
This helps the Tigers move up the recruiting rankings from No. 4 to 3, leapfrogging the Georgia Bulldogs in the progress. Stevens will likely end up as a safety at the next level and that could give LSU a huge boost from losing so many defensive players after the 2016 season.
JaCoby Stevens is currently the No. 2 safety in the country and No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee.
