Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz continue to change the game. For their impressive performances in the main event of UFC 202 this weekend, McGregor and Diaz earned a combined $5 million.
According to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, the main eventers earned 82 percent of the disclosed $6,106,000 payroll for the event. McGregor pulled in a record $3 million for his efforts, while Diaz earned $2 million.
The only other fighters to hit six figures were main card participants Anthony Johnson ($270,000), who scored a knockout over Glover Teixeira in the co-main event, and Donald Cerrone ($170,000).
The figures released do not include any money from outside sponsors, Reebok outfitting numbers or outside sponsorships for the athletes. UFC 202 purses also exclude any locker room bonuses.
As for the fight itself, McGregor avenged his loss to Diaz by narrowly outpointing him on the judges scorecards to earn a majority decision.
