Joey Casselberry was kicked off the Bloomsburg (Pa.) University baseball team this past Saturday for his offensive tweet regarding Little League sensation Mo’ne Davis. Disney Channel released that they were going to make a movie based on Davis’ success at the Little League World Series as a girl playing and succeeding amongst boys.
Casselberry had some very strong opinions about the release of the movie, tweeting the following using a very offensive word in describing the 13-year old Davis.
Since then, Casselberry has deleted his Twitter account (@BigCass24).
Prior to his dismissal, the junior first baseman had the second highest batting average on the team, hit the team’s second best average at .389, led the team with nine RBIs and served as one of Bloomsburg’s best offensive players.
Davis has reached out to the Bloomsburg president to reinstate him to the team but the university is sticking with the dismissal. The athletic department apologized publicly on behalf of Casselberry’s actions on Saturday.
Bloomsburg Univ is deeply saddened by what was written about #MoneDavis by one of our student-athletes. His words do not represent us.

We take matter very seriously; addressed the issue with the student-athlete (who has been dismissed from team), coach, and the team.
