Minneapolis to bid on 2020 championship game

Minneapolis, Minnesota plans to bid on the 2020 College Football Playoff national championship game.

After failing to land the 2016 College Football Playoff championship game, Minneapolis is holding out hope that they will be able to land the big game further down the line at the new Minnesota Vikings stadium.

Governor Mark Dayton announced the bid, with Gopher head coach Jerry Kill serving as the honorary co-chair for Minneaplis’ bid.

The next two host cities for the national championship game will be Tampa, Fla., and Glendale, Ariz.

The College Football Playoff committee has yet to determine host cities for the final game following the 2017 season and beyond.
