Virginia Cavaliers quarterback Corwin Cutler will remain with the team, per a report from Mike Barber of the Richmond Times-Dispatch. The redshirt freshman and former four-star recruit had originally planned to transfer to Hutchinson Community College in Kansas, but will now remain with the program.
Cutler announced his new plans on his personal Twitter page this afternoon.

Virginia can now breathe a sigh of relief, as the hole at quarterback will not be so big anymore. It was reported by ESPN a few days ago that redshirt sophomore Greyson Lambert would transfer out of the program, and Lambert confirmed that with a statement on his own Twitter.

Lambert only threw for 1,972 yards, 11 scores and 13 interceptions in two seasons in Charlottesville, but the Cavaliers now have a chance to put a fresh face under center in Cutler and hope that the man nicknamed “Turtle” can bring the team closer to its first ACC title since 1995, when the legendary George Welsh was coach.
Virginia went 5-7 (3-5 ACC) in 2014, its fifth under current coach Mike London. In those five years, the team has gone 23-38 (11-29 ACC) and has one BCS Bowl appearance, to Auburn in the 2011 Chick-Fil-A Bowl.
