The SEC isn’t the only conference that has generated record revenue. On Friday, the Big 12 conference also announced that eight of the conference’s schools will receive revenue shares of $27 million each.
Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby announced the news.
Other schools, like TCU and West Virginia who recently joined the Big 12, will receive $24 and $23 million apiece. Next year, the newer conference members will receive their full shares.
The previous record payout in the Big 12 was $23 million.
When you include the third-tier rights, some of the Big 12 teams would be be pushing close to the SEC figures that were released today.
Big 12 numbers don't include third-tier rights. Texas gets $15M from Longhorn Network. OU believed to be next at about $6.5M for 3rd tier.

It pays to be in a Power Five conference.
