Class of 2016 five-star shooting guard Tyus Battle, of Gill St. Bernard’s School in Gladstone, New Jersey, about an hour outside of New York City, has de-committed from Michigan and will visit Syracuse this weekend.
Evan Daniels of Scout.com reported Battle’s decision.
Tyus Battle is taking an official visit to Syracuse this weekend & opening up his recruitment, per sources. Committed to Michigan in May.

Battle had initially committed to the Wolverines back in May and is ranked the No. 20 overall recruit in his class by 247 Sports. Among shooting guards, he is ranked fourth.
The game is now changed as one of the best prospects of next year’s recruiting class is back on the market, and Syracuse isn’t going to be the only program looking to land Battle. On top of them, he has also drawn interest and received offers from Duke, UConn, Louisville, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
Battle has the size for the position at 6-foot-5, 179 pounds, and is an excellent defender on top of having a fine developing scoring game, so whichever program lands him will have scored a major coup over Michigan.
