There is some kind of force that really doesn’t want the Kansas Jayhawks going to South Korea for the World University Games next month. Bill Self’s crew was already short three players due to them being native to other countries and one more to injury. The team reported Friday afternoon that one more player will not be making the trip to Northeast Asia due to injury.
According to College Basketball Talk, rising sophomore Devonte’ Graham will miss the Games due to a partially torn quadriceps tendon that he suffered earlier this week. The guard will not require surgery for the injury, but he will be sidelined for up to three weeks.
The Jayhawks will miss Graham’s play on the court after he averaged 5.7 points and 2.1 assists per game last season. SMU point guard Nic Moore will join Kansas on the trip to South Korea and Self will look to add on one more point guard to help replace Graham.
The Games are just a few weeks away and the Jayhawks hope to represent Lawrence very well. They will have to do it without a few key players.
