Florida State Seminoles head coach Jimbo Fisher was visibly upset after cornerback Jalen Ramsey was kicked out of practice Sunday. Ramsey was involved in several physical plays before ultimately taking Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Jameis Winston to the turf.
Fisher warned Ramsey about his actions and later called his actions a lack of leadership and character.
In a post-practice interview, Fisher said, “You’re going to do things my way or [you’re] not going to play here. When I tell somebody to do something and they don’t do it, it’s serious. That’s how you have problems.”
Ramsey, just a sophomore, started all 14 games during his freshman campaign, becoming the first freshman to start at cornerback for the Seminoles since Deion Sanders. Ramsey finished the year with 49 tackles, a sack, and an interception. The 6-foot-1 cornerback was expected to help fill the void left behind by second round pick NFL Draft pick Lamarcus Joyner.
At the end of his tirade, Fisher made sure to put the ball in Ramsey’s court.
“He’ll decide if he wants to play at Florida State,” Fisher said.
