People fall on hard times, we all know that. If you are in college, the bills, the classwork, the stress, or a combination of the three can really take a toll on your mind and body. That is what happened to one former Spring Arbor University music student…and it happened in the worst way possible.
Now, the former student is being given another chance at his dream.
BroBible shared the inspiring story of Donald Gould, a 51-year-old homeless Sarasota, Florida man whose piano-playing prowess is nearly immaculate. His piano skills are so good that a video of him playing Come Sail Away by Styx (that’s a band from the 80s for all you young folk) went viral earlier this month.

Gould had been wracked with so many bills during his time at Spring Arbor some thirty years ago that he had to drop out. Now, because of the popularity of the video, the university is giving him one more shot at his dream.
With some stipulations, Spring Arbor is offering Gould a $30,000 scholarship for the fall semester. He has to “get clean”, meaning he has to get off any drugs he is doing before re-enrolling at the Michigan college.
I would love to meet this man and shake his hand for showing everyone that when life knocks you down, all you have to get back up again. No Chumbawumba, I am not talking about you.
