Steve Spurrier trolls SEC opponents at SEC Media Days

The Head Ball Coach is STILL one of the most outspoken guys in all of college football. South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier has no problem making snide comments about his team’s opponents.

After showing up to the SEC Media Days in the coolest way possible – sunglasses indoors and all – Spurrier took the stage and everybody was on the edge of their seats to hear what he had to say. College Spun had the comments Spurrier made in regards to Tennessee and Arkansas’s 2014 seasons and it was classic HBC.

Well, the Vols were certainly doing cartwheels after they beat the Gamecocks 45-42 in overtime last season. Maybe his comments have something to do with his team also going 7-6 last season.

Spurrier and the Gamecocks have been at the top of the SEC East in years past, so it is expected that they should do well. Arkansas and Tennessee have both struggled as of late, so winning a bowl game will always give you some reason to celebrate for the future.

Since arriving at South Carolina in 2005, Spurrier has an 84-45 record and the Gamecocks have made a bowl every year except one. The Gamecocks won the SEC East in 2010 and finished ranked in the top ten from 2011-2013, including a number four ranking in 2013.

The Gamecocks play the Volunteers in Knoxville on November 7 and, unfortunately, do not play Arkansas during the regular season. The Gamecocks open the season on September 3 against North Carolina at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
