The quarterback competition for the Georgia Bulldogs got real muddled when former Virginia quarterback Greyson Lambert transferred to Athens in May. We now sit just weeks before the start of training camp and head coach Mark Richt has yet to announce a starting quarterback.
A picture made the rounds Monday afternoon that gives fans an idea of who may be leading the Bulldogs come this September. Online Athens shared the photo and it may surprise you who the frontrunner is.
Brice Ramsey has been considered the favorite since the 2014 season ended and Hutson Mason moved on from UGA. He is listed as the number one quarterback over Faton Bauta, while Lambert, who just recently arrived on campus, isn’t even listed.
Richt talked about the competition via Twitter and he says that it is still “wide open.”
Just so everybody understands, our QB race is wide open and we will decide on a starter sometime during preseason practice! Go Dawgs!

Whoever the starting quarterback is for the Bulldogs, he will have to be ready to take on all challenges. The Bulldogs are considered the favorite in the SEC East this season, so there is huge pressure on the quarterback to succeed.
The Bulldogs open the season on September 5 when they host Louisiana-Monroe.
