The Auburn Tigers may have the nation’s next star running back; at least that is what offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee seems to believe. Recently, Lashlee was speaking with AL.com when he praised freshman Kerryon Johnson’s talent.
According to Lashlee, Johnson “is one of those guys that has (Darren) McFadden-like ability.”
“He’s more than a scat back. He’s an every down playmaker,” Lashlee said. “Kerryon is one of those guys that has (Darren) McFadden-like ability, when you look back at guys that Tim (Horton) and I and coach (Malzahn) have all coached, a guy that can really do it all. He’s big enough, he’s athletic enough to be an every down back, he can play receiver, he can probably take snaps at quarterback.”
With that kind of versatility, the Tigers are going to be working hard to get Johnson on the field.
At 6-foot, 195-pounds, the reigning Alabama Mr. Football has the size you need to excel as an every down player. Now, it will just be up to him to put everything together and live up to the hype.
