Philip Rivers celebrated contract extension with Domino’s pizza

San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers recently signed a four-year, $83.25 million contract ($65 million guaranteed) with the team and rather than celebrate with fine wine, champagne, a steak dinner or a fancy night out, the man celebrated like a college kid and ordered a Domino’s pizza with jalapeños, black olives and pepperoni.

Rivers spoke of his celebration feast to reporters, and the Chargers posted it on their official Twitter page.

Rivers’ reasoning for such a casual meal? “It was late.”

Sure enough, Domino’s jumped in on the fun with a tweet of their own.

That said, though some may criticize Rivers for going so low-budget with his choice of meal after inking such a lengthy and lucrative deal, this writer has one thing to say.

It’s his money, and he can eat whatever he wants so long as he helps his team win!
