Class of 2016 five-star defensive back and Florida State recruit teased Seminoles fans on Twitter yesterday, hinting that the program had “silent commits” from two players that could be made public very soon.

Sure enough, Adam Friedman of Rivals.com basically confirmed Taylor’s words, and added more fuel to the fire in the process.
These are BIG playmakers. At least one of the two will go public in a few weeks. #FSU https://t.co/FS9OuRRcPJ

And then, there’s four-star tight end recruit Naseir Upshur, who changed his Twitter handle to “8/23” and implied that his decision could be coming soon. Sure enough, 247 Sports’ Crystal Ball has him trending towards FSU.
not doing anymore interviews … making my decision very soon

It’s not at all a surprise that FSU would have two silent commits, as the program is just two seasons removed from a national championship and could be in a prime position to make the College Football Playoff again in 2015. Head coach Jimbo Fisher has established a winning culture in Tallahassee since taking over in 2010, so the idea that players would want to keep their commits silent isn’t entirely unheard of, especially given how competitive recruiting has become.
This could obviously be huge news so, of course, Campus Sports will be waiting with baited breath to update this story as new information becomes public.
