TCU senior safety Derrick Kindred knew that when the Horned Frogs lost six starters on defense, it was time for him to step up as a leader. As his coach Gary Patterson told Carlos Mendez of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Kindred has done just that.
“He’s been a leader. He’s made plays,” Patterson said.
Sure enough, Kindred also spoke to Mendez and explained just how he was able to step up and assume a leadership role.
“Toward the end of my junior year, I felt like I was becoming the leader that I needed to be,” he said. “In the spring this year, it was all about getting guys in position where they needed to be. And to grow some kids up to fill spots we lost last year.”
